Rah Digga Responds To Iggy Azalea, Hip-Hop Media
"Kinda hard to have an intellectual convo about Hip Hop as a whole when the person you're talking to makes it about 1 person," says Rah.

Earlier this week, Rah Digga proclaimed in an interview with ThisIs50 that Iggy Azalea "isn't hip-hop."

“Iggy Azalea it’s like I can’t get into her,” she said. “Because it’s just not real to me. There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian Hip Hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re Gangsta Boo. Personally, I don’t consider her Hip Hop. I listen to her album. Everything that I hear on there is everything but that. And I feel like Hip Hop is Hip Hop.”

Azalea, hearing the interview, took to Twitter to respond. "I honestly don't really mind if I'm described as rap or pop. My passion is purely making music and entertaining," read Azalea's tweet. "its definetly funny seeing ppl get so emotional over it all. What does it matter? music is music and many enjoy mine, no need to feel upset."

Looking for a Halloween costume? Chicago’s Lyric Opera is selling about 3,000 pieces from its handmade costume wardrobe to the public. Prices range from $1 - $200,

and some of the garments are nearly 100 years old.

Already on the lookout for a Halloween costume? Or possibly your next Comic Con or Renaissance Faire outfit? The Lyric Opera of Chicago has got your back.

This Saturday marks only the second time in Lyric history that the company will be selling some 3,000 pieces of their handmade costume collection to the public.

Costume Director Maureen Reilly said the Lyric doesn’t have enough room in their storage for all of the costumes - some dating back almost 100 years.

Some costumes, she said, have even become a bit repetitive.

“I think our Madame Butterfly and our Boehme are really gorgeous, but they’re 30 and 40 years old. So if you’ve been a season subscriber since you’ve been 20 or

something, you’ve seen the same Boehme every 10 years or 8 years, so you want something new and different,” Reilly said.

Prices range from $1 to $200, but Reilly said most garments are actually worth thousands of dollars. Some of the costumes come from as far away as Europe, while others

were made in the United States. Shoppers will find items from operas like Pirates of Penzance, Voyages of Edgar Allen Poe, Anna Bolena, Otello, Flying Dutchman,

Rigoletto, Don Carlo and more.

The last and only other time the Lyric held a sale like this was in 2004, when the company’s warehouse in Pilsen was sold. They sold around the same amount of

costumes, and brought in nearly $77,000. All the money goes back to the Lyric Opera.

This weekend’s sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Grand Foyer of the Civic Opera House.

Seeds of Hope gets jump start on Halloween
BISMARCK, N.D. — Halloween may be three months away but that doesn't mean people have to wait to go shopping for their costumes.

The Seeds of Hope Thrift Store has opened its Halloween shop in the lower level of the store.

"There's costumes, accessories, wigs, kids, women's and men's costumes, all sizes all ages. Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations, just fall in general, yard

ornaments, anything and everything," store manager Lisa Ternes said.

Seeds of Hope is owned and operated by the Abused Adult Resource Center and all the proceeds go to women and children affected by domestic violence.

"You're saving money and giving back to the munity by supporting the AARC," assistant manager Dorinda Eckroth said. "It's such a good bargain place to e."

It is the 10th year opening the Halloween store and the shop seems to just keep growing.

"Every year it just keeps getting bigger and better. We keep getting more stuff, its getting nicer, so every year is different," Ternes said.

Seeds of Hope is in downtown Bismarck at 520 E. Main Ave.

Ternes and Eckroth said they really enjoy the location because of all the different people who e into the store and all the events that happen downtown help.

The Halloween shop will be open until early October. Then Seeds of Hope starts setting up its Christmas shop.
